About Aaron Thompson

My group's research program focuses on understanding the microscale microbial and geochemical processes that influence macroscale ecosystem processes in soils, sediments and waters.

We actively pursue collaborations across many disciplines to tackle current environmental problems and fundamental scientific questions. Our program has a particular emphasis on redox processes in terrestrial systems, and the disequilibrium conditions that arise at interfaces and during biogeochemical transitions.
