Starting February 24, peel back the layers of generosity with our onion fundraiser in Cherokee County! Get your hands on a 10 pound bag for only $15 and spread the love to our Cherokee County 4-H Kids. The proceeds will be used for activities and clubs throughout the year!  This sale will end on April 7th, make sure to get yours before they're gone! They will are estimated to be delivered to our Extension office at the beginning of May.

The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Alumni Association Awards is an annual event that honors college alumni for their outstanding achievements. The ceremony also includes recognition of new inductees into the Georgia Agricultural Hall of Fame. Awards will be given at the UGA CAES Alumni Association Awards on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Classic Center in Athens, GA.

Since 2007, Flavor of Georgia has launched new products into success and garnered more publicity and sales for products already in the market. From rural farmers to urban businesses, successful and talented food artisans have emerged from all over Georgia to create delicacies from the abundant agricultural products our state has to offer. Over 1,800 products have entered the contest since it began.

This one-day course is an introduction to good agricultural practices. Small-scale fruit and vegetable growers will learn skills necessary to draft a food safety plan, identify safety concerns, and build knowledge on certifications and resources.This event will take place on May 14th, 9am-3pm.Location: Old Rucker Farm, 900 Rucker Road, Alpharetta, GA 30004Registration closes on May 7th, 2025.Lunch is included. Please email efs@uga.edu with any allergens or dietary restrictions after registering. Beverages and breakfast are not included. We request participants bring a laptop or tablet that has a USB port. For cancellations, please email efs@uga.edu.Cancellation PolicyCancellations made a week or less before the event will not be refunded. Cancellations made prior to a week before the workshop will be issued a full refund. All workshops and courses are subject to cancellation by Food Science and Technology Extension. In this case, full refunds will be issued to all who have paid registration fees. Neither The University of Georgia nor Food Science and Technology Extension are required to reimburse any expenses made by the attendee prior to cancellation except for the registration fee.
