CropFit App

SmartIrrigation CropFit (SI CropFit), is a smartphone-based irrigation scheduling platform that provides real-time, crop-specific irrigation scheduling recommendations for corn, cotton, peanut, soybean, and sweet corn production in the southeastern U.S. Developed by UGA CRSS’s Dr. George Vellidis and his team members including recent UGA CRSS Graduate, Dr. Emily Bedwell, SI CropFit is being evaluated and supported state-wide by County Program Assistant/Water Educator, David Hall, Area Water Agents, Phillip Edwards and Jason Mallard, and UGA CRSS’s Dr. Wesley Porter.

Since its release in 2023, SI CropFit has had 546 users who applied the tool to 1753 fields. SI CropFit App is available at no cost from the Apple and Google Play app stores because it is supported by Cotton Incorporated, the Georgia Corn Commission, the Georgia Peanut Commission, and the Georgia Corn Commission.
