Perri Campis

In May 2019, Perri joined the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District as Project Director, where she began working with District Supervisors, local NRCS, researchers, extension agents, and farmers to develop and implement innovative technologies addressing conservation priorities in the Lower Flint River Basin. In October of 2019, Perri transitioned from her role as Project Director to Executive Director of the 9-county District where she oversees District projects focusing on irrigation efficiency, VRI technologies, feral swine control, soil health, and more. Perri holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriscience and Environmental Systems as well as a Certificate in Local Food Systems from the University of Georgia, and a Master’s in Public Policy from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University.

Prior to her work with the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District, Perri worked in the non-profit sector with several agricultural non-profits, including Georgia Organics where she was the Farmer Services Coordinator for several years. As Coordinator, Perri managed the organization's Affordable Health Care Initiative, helped execute and evaluate the Farmer Mentor Program, supported event planning and management, and more.

Perri also directed and continues to work with the Organic Peanut Project in Georgia, which established a Certified Organic supply chain for peanuts in the state and resulted in the formation of a farmer-led cooperative. This created a diversified economic opportunity for peanut farmers in the region, and reduced barriers to entry into the market for small and underserved producers.

Perri was born and raised in Midtown Atlanta, but relocated to South Georgia to work more closely on-the-ground in the agricultural and conservation hub that is Southwest Georgia. Currently, she resides in Americus with her partner Donn, who also works locally in the agricultural sector, and their dog, Sanu. When they aren't working, they enjoy hiking, kayaking, gardening, and spending time with nearby family. Perri’s work is informed by her passion to support Georgia agriculture and ensure the economic and environmental health of Georgia’s agricultural landscape.
